| 2007 RELAY FOR LIFE WINNER The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life was held again this past year at Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner. Country Fuel sponsored a raffle that offered 500 Gallons of Heating Oil or $1000 CASH. A young girl with her mother came to the booth that Saturday to buy some tickets. She said that if she won, she was going to give the prize to her Pepere for his birthday, which was the following weekend. Three hours later, her ticket was pulled. The young girl, Alyson Dube, from Connecticut, gave the prize to her Pepere on his birthday. Her Pepere is Bob Cormier of Gardner. Bob chose to take the 500 gallons of heating oil as his prize. In November 2007, Bob's wife Barbara will be an 11 year cancer survivor. This was the first year Country Fuel has sponsored this raffle and it raised more than $3,000 for the Relay for Life. With that kind of success, Country Fuel will continue to sponsor this raffle every year. "This was the best possible scenario for the raffle - not only did it raise money for cancer, but it also went to a family that has survived cancer." Dan Rameau General Manager Country Fuel |
